Who is responsible?

Which data do we process?

Contact details you enter in our forms, details about your situation (destination, dates, age, family, chosen cover), policy and claim data, health data only where needed for an application, and technical data needed to run and secure the website. When you submit an application, we record your IP address, the time and your type of device and browser, together with a verification code. These are printed as a stamp on the application PDF as proof that you confirmed the declaration and the application.

Why?

To handle your quote, application, call-back request, claim or complaint; to apply for and manage your insurance; to comply with legal obligations; and to secure and improve the website. Health data is only passed on to the insurer with your explicit consent.

Who do we share data with?

Insurers and their emergency centres and medical advisers (such as De Goudse and ISIS), service providers with whom we have processing agreements, and authorities where required by law. We never sell your data.

How long do we keep it?

Quote requests without follow-up: up to 12 months. Customer and policy files: up to 7 years after the end of the relationship. Complaint files: up to 2 years after handling.

Your rights

You may access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to processing, and request data portability. Send your request to info@europeaninsurance.nl; we respond within one month. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
